Wearing a navy blue suit, Conor McGregor, the former UFC champ, accepted a plea deal over his involvement in a violent incident in New York earlier this year. Pleading guilty to a single misdemeanor charge for his involvement will spare him jail time and possible US immigration troubles.

Former two-weight world champion McGregor, the 30-year-old UFC superstar, was charged with assault and criminal mischief after he attacked a bus carrying fellow fighters in Brooklyn in April. McGregor could have been sentenced to a spell in jail but struck a plea bargain after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to five days of community service and anger management classes.
