Can’t seem to get enough of television dramas? Don’t worry for we have sorted you out with the schedule of NBC for the coming 2018/19 fall.
If there is one thing we could note from the schedule which NBC revealed Sunday for the 2018/19 fall, the freshman medical drama ‘’New Amsterdam’’ is highly rated by the higher-ups of the American television network.
“The ‘New Amsterdam’ pilot knocked us over,” said the chairman of NBC Entertainment, Bob Greenblatt, in a conference call over the weekend. “We loved it in the development stage. It just came together beautifully.”
NBC has provided the series with a 10 p.m. slot on Tuesdays, which means ‘’New Amsterdam’’ would follow the ratings powerhouse ‘’This Is Us’’ on Tuesday nights. The series, which revolves around the historic Bellevue hospital of New York, features Ryan Eggold in the leading role.
Following the lead of ‘’New Amsterdam’’ will be another new drama ‘’Manifest’’ which will follow the ‘’Voice’’ on Monday nights with its 10 p.m. airing. The series revolves around a mystery plot, one which concerns the passengers and the crew of a plane which is up in the air for the last five years.
Moving on, Dick Wolf will be a happy man seeing the fall schedule of NBC, since all his ‘’Chicago’’ shows have been given back-to-back airtime on Wednesday Nights.
Leading the schedule will be ‘’Chicago Med’’ which will come on air at 8 p.m. Then there will be ‘’Chicago Fire’’ which will be followed by ‘’Chicago PD’’. To make space, the 20-season-long ‘’Law & Order: SVU’’ has been moved to the 10 p.m. slot on Thursdays.
On Thursdays, viewers will be treated with an overdose of comedy as the likes of ‘’Superstore’’, ‘’The Good Place’’, and the second season of ‘’Will & Grace’’ will follow the likes of each other.
Meanwhile, the recently renewed ‘’The Blacklist’’ series has been shifted from its Wednesday’s slot to Fridays, where it will come on air at 9 p.m.
While NBC are saying that this move was meant to make sure the show could be run without any interruption, critics are of the view that a move to the low-profile Friday spot means that ‘’The Blacklist’’ might be winding down soon.
Also, new drams like ‘’The InBetween’’, ‘’The Enemy Within’’, and ‘’The Village will all see the light of the day in midseason. Also coming on air will be the sixth season of the recently renewed ‘’Brooklyn Nine-Nine’’ and the 2nd season of ‘’Good Girls’’.
On the side of unscripted TV programs, ‘’America’s Got Talent: The Champions’’ will hit the screens on Mondays in the two months of January and February. The much-awaited ‘’The Titan Games’’ – which features Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia – will be launched for a limited run on the 8 p.m. slot.
Finally, the third season of ‘’World of Dance has now been shifted to Sundays where it will now occupy the 8-10 p.m. slot.
