Extremely High Performances –
Microsoft shared the full specs of the Series X –
Zen 2 processor with 8 cores @ 3.8 GHz, RDNA 2-class graphic engine, 16 giga RAM and 1TB SSD of storage.
This machine will cast games at 4K @ 60 FPS, up to 120 FPS and will support the RayTracing technology that present light effects for more realistic pictures.
The usage of SSD hard-drive is one of the main reasons that the console’s performances at the demo – 40 second difference in loading time between Xbox One and Series X.
Microsoft shared a new feature called Xbox Velocity Architecture which combine hardware and software architecture and allows games to get the resources they need fast. Now developers can skip long cut scenes to load the next chapter of the game.
The controller is going to change as well – the controllers will fit the hand of an 8-year-old but it won’t worsen the gaming experience of someone with big hands. The controllers will be charged with USB type C.
We will be able to expand the memory of the console. Don’t get to excited because these special hard drives will cost about $200, so we will have to be very careful about it.
