If the new trailer of ‘’Gotti’’ tells us anything, John Travolta has what it takes to be a real-life mob boss. The 64-year-old is at his best in the movie which depicts the real life of mob boss John Gotti, the leader of the infamous Gambino Crime Family.
In his real life, Gotti was known to those close to him by many names: Dapper Don, Teflon Don, or just Gotti. Whatever they called him, they respected and more importantly feared him.
Gotti was admitted into the Gambino Crime family at a young age when the then underboss, Aniello Dellacrose (Stacey Keach), took him under his wing.
Employing a combination of street smarts, guile, cunning, and ruthless determination, Gotti took little time to scale the heights and earn for himself the title of ‘’Capo’’ in the organization, while earning big bucks in the meantime.
The trailer, which is just over 2 minutes long, showcases brilliantly the resentment which Gotti felt towards the leadership of the group. To change the hierarchy of the group, he started making trusted alliances and soon overthrew the boss to become the head of the Crime Family.
In addition to John Travolta and Spacey Keach, the film stars Kelly Preston, Spencer Lofranco, William DeMeo, Leo Rossi, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Victor Gojcaj.
The journey of ‘’Gotti’’ the movie
As Hollywood watchers might testify, it wasn’t easy for “Gotti’’ to make it to the big screen. The movie, which was originally planned to open in December, was sold back to its production company by the distributor only 10 days before its release.
This change of plans forced Vertical Entertainment to step in and clear the mess. They decided to give the movie a new release date, June 15. The film producers have told The Associated Press that the Cannes Film Festival will release the Premiere of the movie on May 15.
