The couple, which met on the sets of HBO series Game of Thrones, tied the knot in Scotland on Saturday.
Game of Thrones stars Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) and Rose Leslie (Ygritte) tied the knot in Aberdeen, Scotland on Saturday. Their marriage ceremony was followed by a reception at Leslie’s ancestral castle.
Attending the marriage ceremony were Game of Thrones co-stars including Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Peter Dinklage.
Leslie arrived at the church with her father Sebastian Leslie, wearing a long-sleeved gown detailed with ivory lace and a complementing veil. The groom, meanwhile, turned up wearing a morning suit and thanked fans who’d greeted outside the church with a smile before moving indoors.
Once the ceremony was over, the celebrations commenced at Wardhill Castle, a 900-year old castle owned by Leslie’s family in northeast Scotland.
It was in 2012 that Harrington and Leslie met on the set of the famous HBO Series, Game of Thrones.
Both of them played the roles of intimate lovers in the series as well, before the death of Leslie’s character Ygritte forced her out of the show.
Harrington, meanwhile, still plays the role of Jon Snow on the series whose final season will be aired next season.
Once it was confirmed last year that both of them are dating in real-life, Harrington, while speaking to L’Uomo Vogue, revealed that his favorite moments from Game of Thrones were those ones in season two where he had performed alongside Leslie.
“If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
Speaking to the media outside the family castle, Leslie’s father, Sebastian, told gathering reports he was “absolutely thrilled” about the wedding.
“It’s an absolutely lovely day for us,” he said.
